4 weeks...

4 weeks until I leave for Tanzania! I am so excited and nervous...I found out a couple weeks ago that a member (Jake Lyell) at my church (Commonwealth Chapel-comchap.com) has been to this orphanage 3 times...what a small world! So far I have raised $2650 for the orphanage-Light in Africa (LIA)! Everyone has been so generous with not just their monetary donation but also with their emotional and spiritual support. Thank you to every one of you!

Currently, I am in Richmond completing my first clinical for physical therapy graduate school at a nursing home in Hopewell-30mins south of Richmond. I am learning a great deal every day and my clinical instructor, Krista, has been a supportive and engaging mentor. I have come to appreciate my health while working at the nursing home with patients who cannot do everyday activities without a great deal of assistance. And yet, many of them have a positive attitude and are a joy to work with.

This weekend I head to Roanoke for Neeley's wedding (a college buddy). I am excited to see her and Andy tie the knot-I think they have a wonderful future ahead of them! I will also see many old college friends which I am looking forward to!
